It’s great to build relationships with people on the Internet. In fact, it is necessary. The business of Internet Marketing is one where you need to make a name for yourself in order to be successful. People have to see you around for a while and recognize you before they start trusting you and believing in you.
You have to start somewhere. So a good place to start is with a group that you join. I recently took a course on making digital products from PLR products. There were several of us taking the course, every person with a different starting date. But we would get together for webinars on a weekly basis. Also, we had a forum where we could talk to each other and help each other out.
After we learned how to make our products it was time to sell the product. At this time, you usually try to get joint venture partners to help each other sell your products and build your lists. We began communicating more at this point, and now have formed really nice alliances as internet marketers. I can truly say it is fun and that we have made friendships. Now that the course is over some of us are working together on a couple of adventures. We email each other and call each other up on a daily basis.
It is really necessary to get out there when you are in Internet Marketing. You have to make yourself known so that people will start buying from you. So building relationships is really crucial.
It’s also very good to go to the different forums and contribute. Try to answer questions and help others out. Or you can ask questions that you have, or ask for opinions. There are a lot of people in the forums and if you start making your presence there, people will start noticing you.
Be polite when you enter a forum. Remember, it is like entering a community. Don’t just barge in and start giving opinions and being loud. Look around first and see what the feeling of the forum is, and then join in the conversation slowly. Don’t be in a rush to talk, and don’t talk just to talk. You will annoy people. And if you spam, you might get thrown out.
Twitter and Facebook are other places to build relationships online. Here again, know the hidden etiquette of these sites. It’s fun to post on Twitter about any event, but also try to offer content as much as possible. One thing I do which I really like is have an RSS feed from my blog to Twitter and Facebook, so every time I post a blog, it posts on Twitter and Facebook, and I am offering content. I get a lot of responses to these posts, and meet people this way.
So if Internet Marketing is going to be your business, make yourself a community of friends. Help each other out and have fun. If you find someone that is mutually beneficial you might go into partnership with them, and this way you help each other out. The social networking sites, forums, and courses are all ways of getting to know what may be potential business partners and colleagues for a long time.
